Our Stunning local stone and vaulted ceiling 400 year old cottage is situated at the heart of an historic village in Salento (The most Southern Puglia region). The village of Cursi and cottage are 10 mins drive from the large sandy Laghi Allimini beaches and 15 mins from Otranto whilst 2 mins drive from the larger beautiful town of Maglie.
The space
The recently “designer” refurbished one bed cottage is situated off the street behind a court yard offering a double height vaulted entrance lounge, bedroom with en suite bathroom, court yard garden including outside bath and indoor / outdoor shower for those warm summer evenings! The kitchen, off a contemporary staircase, with balconies over looking the living area and courtyard garden, leads onto the stunning roof top terrace over looking the whole town where you can dine, lounge and take in the sun set. The Cottage is an ideal relaxing haven for exploring the Salento region. Accommodation includes: One bedroom room (14 sqm) with en suite bathroom with shower; court yard garden with bath and dining area (9 sqm); lounge with fireplace and fold out double sofa bed (19 sqm); a fully equipped kitchen including dishwasher and washing machine (10 sqm); roof terrace with dinning table and sun loungers (29 sqm). The cottage has air conditioning / central heating though out, TV with hdmi point, Internet wi fi key can be provided on request at an extra cost.
The Neighbourhood
The cottage is located in the Village of Cursi which is where the region’s stone know as “Pietra Leccese” has been mined since medieval times. The village is constructed from this beautiful local stone as have all the stunning local villages. The village is well served for food shopping and there are several bars in the town serving up the typically wonderful Italian coffee and pastries. There are a couple of restaurants with in walking distance and within a short drive.
Getting around
The Village is 5 mins from the main arterial highway that passes through Salento from Lecce 20 mins to the north and to Santa Maria Leuca 30 mins to the south giving the property fantastic accesses to the whole region. So you can take the sun rise in Otranto, Lunch in Sant Maria di Leuca, sunset cocktails in Gallipolli and dinner in Lecce. Apart from this within 15 mins you can be on the sandy beaches of Laghi Allimini and of course there are all the amazing small local towns to explore within a short drive.
No smoking inside the house and no children under 12 years old. Pets are welcome but not on the sofa or bed.
